Program Overview
Each year, schools are selected to receive a pre-selected salvage vehicle from MMDA. With support from industry sponsors providing parts and paint, and dealerships offering estimating guidance and repair procedures, students gain hands-on experience that connects classroom learning to real-world collision repair.
Expectations and Experience
The school commits to repairing the vehicle within one academic year. Along the way, students benefit from work placements offered by sponsors and dealerships, while MMDA shares updates and progress through social media to showcase the program in action.
Results and Impact
When the project is complete, MMDA sells the repaired vehicle on behalf of the school, and every dollar from the sale is donated back to the school’s collision repair program. This reinvestment strengthens training facilities, resources, and opportunities for students.
Sponsor Involvement
Sponsors play a key role not only by providing materials and expertise but also by engaging directly with students. They gain access to future talent, opportunities to teach and mentor, and recognition through MMDA’s marketing channels, including social media, newsletters, and the website.
